Hana Azizi, MD, Appointed Director of Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Appointment follows Dr. Azizi's leadership as interim director
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Hana Azizi, MD, as Director of Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC). In this capacity, Dr. Azizi will oversee the Pediatric PM&R services at the Columbia campus, including all PM&R activities within the Weinberg Family Cerebral Palsy Center, and PM&R services at Blythedale Children’s Hospital.
The appointment to Director of Pediatric PM&R recognizes Dr. Azizi’s capable leadership as interim director of this service since 2022, and positions the Pediatric PM&R service at CUIMC for continued growth and development. Dr. Azizi continues as the Director of the Pediatric Rehabilitation Fellowship where she has successfully trained fellows to continue their work at CUIMC.

Dr. Azizi is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician, and Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine. Dr. Azizi cares for both adults and children with cerebral palsy and other physical impairments. She is an expert in assessment and interventions for people with cerebral palsy, including botulinum toxin injections, alcohol nerve block, intrathecal baclofen pump management, and aids for walking and other daily activities. Together with our team at the Weinberg Family Cerebral Palsy Center Dr. Azizi uses an interdisciplinary approach to address the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of congenital and childhood-onset physical impairments.
